Hyena Hangout - Marloth Park
Hyena Hangout is your ideal bushveld getaway home. Located in the Marloth Park Conservancy, this comfortable and secure home is blissfully quiet and peaceful, your only visitors being the free-roaming animals that call Marloth Park their home.
Marloth Park is a wildlife conservancy, protecting all the non-threatening wild game, which roam freely amongst the dwellings. You will be constantly delighted by visits from zebra, giraffe, bushbuck and kudu; not forgetting the tortoise, monitor lizard or the energetic ‘nag-apies’ or galagos.
Hyena Hangout can accommodate up to 15 guests in 2 cottages with 2 private en-suite bedrooms downstairs and additional beds in the upstairs loft.
The kitchens are fully equipped for self-catering guests and includes a gas stove, microwave, kettle, toaster, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. The comfortable downstairs lounge, leads out onto a patio and braai area, where you will have your own braai, but will share the large splash pool on those hot summer afternoons. Evenings are best spent around the campfire, watching the sparks fly into the dusk, with a million stars to decorate the night sky. Cool off with a cocktail in the splash pool, or unwind with a book on the secure deck. There is nothing to beat the tranquillity of the African bush, a place to refresh your soul and restore your love of life.
Each cottage has an open plan lounge with an overhead and standing fan. The shared splash pool and large veranda has separate braai facilities for each cottage. The main bedroom is air-conditioned with a double bed, and an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. The second bedroom is also en-suite with a double bed (or ¾) bed, wall fan and shower. The large open-plan loft area features a double bed and two single beds. The beds have linen and pillows with blankets and duvets supplied in winter. Please note that beds are only made once a booking has been finalised.
The impala, blue wildebeest, nyala and warthog wander freely while the Big 5 are restricted to the Kruger National Park. The house is within a short walk of the Crocodile River which is the border of the Kruger National Park. Spend the early evening with sundowners alongside the river, enjoying the prospect of seeing the elephants bathing in the river or a lioness catching her prides evening meal. Buffalo, rhino, waterbuck, crocodile and hippo are also a common sight, together will a myriad of water birds and the amazing fish eagle.
